Bay and Delta Yachtsman

I've heard of this magazine mentioned from time to time. Is this a good one to subscribe to? How often do they come out publish?

I've been a subscriber since 1980 and I read it cover to cover the first few days after it arrives....does that tell you something? It covers everything boating for the SF Bay and Delta! It comes out the beginning of every month. WM carries it or google "Bay & Delta Yachtsman" to go to their website!

I subscibe as well. I comes to the house. It is also available at many locations thoughout the Bay and Delta area.

B&D Yachtsman is a good mag. It's a monthly. They changed the layout about a year or so ago giving the magazine a larger and somewhat awkward size. But, there is a lot more content and photography than there used to be, so it's a much improved read compared to a couple of years ago. I miss reading Hal, though. I have a subscription, which means I get the magazine a couple of weeks after it hits the stands. Many newsstands carry B&D Yachtsman.

The other good local read is Latitude 38. Primarily a sailing and cruising monthly, it has a lot of local content. The huge letters section makes this mag worthwhile. Tons of good ads and a bargain (under a buck or free) at the newsstands and marine stores. The subscription costs a lot more, but '38 gets mailed around the world. Latitude 38 has a website.

Great magazine until they changed it to such a weird format...it doesn't fit in my mailbox so it gets mangled and it doesn't fit in my briefcase. And try reading it on an airplane with the seats the way they are...impossible.

I'm a long time subscriber too.

The format they have now - isn't it the same as the older format they had, maybe some 10 years ago?

I agree it's a great read if you boat or are intetested in the Bay & Delta..
