Bay Cleanup

One thing I'd like to see eliminated is ALL the residential uses of fertilizers and herbicides. Farms and businesses tend to use lower rates of these materials than the average home owner on a per unit area basis, mainly because they are expensive and add cost to production. The average American tends to use the "more is better" mind set when applying fertilizer. There are legit. uses of these products, but makeing sure millions of lawns don't have crab grass isn't one of them in my opinion. In the grand scheme of things, does it really matter if a homeowners lawn is green or if it has dandilions? I know this will never happen since chemical compaines make most of their money off the residential portion of their label.

I smell another try for NDZ legislation in MD. While the overall idea to clean up the Chesapeake is great in my opinion, there's no money to do it. Thus, states like MD will make every move they can to "claim" they're doing something (like NDZ legislation), but they'll actually be doing very little.
