I went down to my marina in Merrick and I figured the basin would be frozen . I didn't expect to see the bay completely frozen over. This was Friday nite. After the rain and all.

Floating docks frozen solid to the ice .

Got like 40 something days till I splash .

I just got back from our marina in Eastport; no one was there! The zipper door in the shrinkwrap had torn loose a few weeks ago. Now it's completly gone. I had bought shrinkwrap tape to refit it; instead, I simply taped the flap that had been cut into the shrinkwrap closed to keep critters out. Each time I go there, I'll have to cut it open and then retape. I don't expect to splash until the second week in April. Too many things to do at home and on the boat to splash before then. I'm also waiting for clearance from the surgeon who did my spinal surgery. I don't expect any problems, but you never know. Stay warm, all; winter's not over yet. Hy

Sounds like you need to buy a new door from Dr. Shrink.

I am working by a river that is frozen.
Day and night there are guys fishing

Greg: I'm thinking of buying a new door but right now no onw's in the marina office to sell it to me. I'll take a look online for one. Taping it on is no big deal. It would have been nice if the door had gotten stuck under a nearby boat, but who knows where it went. You can't fight Mother Nature. Hy

Greg: Thanks for the referral! I just ordered a door from Mr. Shrink at half the price I paid to have the original installed. Installation by me sometime next week. Hy

You're welcome. I save my door every year. $20 less I have to pay the marina every fall!

I look at ice fishing and I think to myself.....

Just how bad does a man NEED to get time away from the wife by sitting on a block of ice with a bottle of brandy in one hand and dental floss in the other hanging in the water...

Yep, nothin` says I love you more than "I`d rather sit on a bucket on a frozen lake than spend the day with you"

I would go with AND Drinking... [:-drunk]

I've never understood ice fishing, other than when it was an absolute necessity so that a family had what to eat in the winter. Personally, I prefer a nice warm June day on the bay trying to hook one legal fluke. But that's just me. Hy
