I was wondering if anyone has ever tried to repair a bravo 3 bearing carrier? Mine are pitted pretty good and it looks like removing/replacing them would put the lower housing in jeapardy. The condition of the lower housing around the bearing carrier it pitted as well and the mechanic thinks that trying to remove the carrier would probably crack the housing due to its poor condition and by the looks of things the two pieces have probably become "1". He said it might not, but it may and if it does, big $. Right now there are no leaks so no problem right now. What I was wondering was could I use some of the Aluminox putty George has talked about on this forum to "build-up" and repair the pits as well as spray the exposed (what I can see) parts of the carrier with Zinc chromate or wash them in alumiprep/alodine? Any thoughts or suggestions? Thanks
