Ray (not sure if you go by Ray or Raymond)-Well, we decided not to try to go over to New Buffalo on Friday. The boat wasn't ready on time (of course) so we couldn't have left until the afternoon and given the wind/wave height it didn't make much sense. So we came over on Saturday in 4's to 6's which wasn't much better! I've never been so glad to have full canvas enclosures because we would have been soaked and cold without them. I let my b-in-law drive most of the way. When we hit really big waves the bell in the cockpit would ring so everytime we hit one we'd say, "There's another good bell ringer!" Anyway, the boat held up great, and plowed right through it. My wife and I took her out alone on Sunday because it was really good conditions with the wind blowing from the East. It was great! I'm sure I didn't do it perfectly, but pulling out of and into the slip was pretty easy. Didn't get the chance to stop over at your boat, but we'll be there next weekend.

I saw the new boat this weekend, I am actually looking out my boats window at it right now. The boat looks great! I was out on Sunday for a short while and it was perfect, no bell ringers on Sunday! I have had my share of some bell ringers but overall I have been very happy with how my boat handles when it gets a little snotty.

I am glad you got in alright without kissing the bottom of the harbor mouth, its close when the going gets rough right now.

BTW, its just Ray.

Thanks Ray! She still needs a good amount of cleaning, but we're off to a good start. I'm envious that you get to spend all of your time in New Buffalo. I just love it there. Coming over from IL it really feels like we're getting away eventhough it's only about an hour and 15 minutes away from where we live. Hopefully this coming weekend stays looking nice!

Where do you live, I am from Burr Ridge, IL and thats 1 hour and 15 minutes...

Ray-I know it's only Wednesday, but I was just checking out the marine forecast on New Buffalo's website for this weekend and now it doesn't look good in terms of going out for a cruise. It's showing 4s to 7s for Saturday, and Sunday shows 4s to 6s. Have you listened to the forecast on your VHF? Obviously, it could change by the weekend.

I just listened to it, Sunday might be good now, my VHF says 1-3's. At least it will be warmer than today! We had a crazy storm last night though and about 4:30 I was awaken by the boat hitting the dock because the water was so high and the wind was so strong. See you this weekend, we even live close to each other in IL. I am right near Plainfield and County Line Road.

Damn Ray, I keep meaning to stop over at your boat, but time just seems to fly in New Buffalo! Hope you had a good weekend. I did see you coming back in once with what looked to be a very fun crowd! I love your flag BTW.

I had a great weekend, plenty of girls on board and when docked a few delicious beers! I was going through my cabinets below when I was anchored and came across my jolly roger so I had to put it up. I am very happy with how the weekend turned out considering the weather on Friday and Saturday, what a bummer. I hope you had a great time here, the weather was even better today!

We had a great weekend. My b-in-law got his Mariner rigged for fishing (his is the Mariner on the other side of D dock towards the end) so we spent a lot of time on his boat (with not many fish to show for it!). We took mine out for an evening cruise on Monday which was great. The docking is going really well BTW. I did notice that you had a good number of ladies aboard! Oh to be 21 again (and with a good sized boat)! I'm 37 so I'm not quite ancient yet, but since I'm married with a child I'll just have to enjoy the beers and margaritas and leave the young ladies alone. Well actually, I still look right?

Look, don't touch! Great fun this past weekend, my boss went out fishin on his Tiara named Matika down the dock from me and he did pretty well and caught some nice fish and had some pretty decent fillets out of them. I think they were in 80' of water trolling.
