The dock was destroyed by Irene, and it's still all fenced off. Anyone happen to know if it'll be replaced this Spring? I might need to stop down at Town Hall and see if I can find out anything...
 
I fueled up there at the end of November and asked about the pump out. At that time they didn't seem to know when it would be replaced.
 
The dock at the end of Wellwood by Chateau le Mer is still destroyed too.
I am guessing they feel it is best to get thru winter storms before replacing.
 
It has nothing to do with winter but how the town does things. They will put the repair work out for bid and then move foward with permit apps from the DEC. This will take time and is nobodys fault just how it works.
 
If we got to wait for the feds I guess I will have to use my handy hand urinal this year!
 
In yesterday's Newday was an article that said the Town of Babylon has hired a firm to begin engineering and design work to repair the bulkhead and pier. That work will take a "few weeks" then proposals will be sent out for the work. I don't see it getting done before the season begins.
 
Thanks, Gene. I got sidetracked and never stopped back at town hall to inquire.
