Bergen Pt pump out/ out of service

It has been out of service for a few months. Apparently someone made off with a piece

Try Tobay.
I like to pump out, fill with fresh water, then pump out again. I usually try do it during the week so nobody is waiting behind me.
I used Bergen once or twice this season for convenience after getting gas, but it isn't my first choice becuase of the lack of a fresh water hose.
Tanner used to be good until they moved the pump out when they redid the bulkhead.
Right now Tobay is about the best local choice.

I dock in Tanner and agree the bulkhead has lots of protruding hardware to mess up your boat so be careful if you pumpout there! I tried to pump out the other day and it wasn't working correctly.
AMAZING........what do town leaders expect boaters to do with their holding tank waste....when 1/2 the pump out stations on the south shore are broken ???......then they wonder why theres such poor water quality in the GSB.......just saying

The new bulkhead in Tanner looks nice from a distance, but the guy who signed off on it was probably not a boater.
The ramp, bulkhead approaching it, and the new spot they moved the pump out to all had stuff protruding from them. Even with fenders deployed, you still risk gouging your boat.
Someone told me they are addressing those problems though.
The spot they moved the pumpout to doesn't make much sense either. A decent sized boat pumping out could present an obstacle to someone coming in or out of that section of the docks.
Tobay is usually the best bet because of the dock itself, the pumpout is generally working, and there is water available for a flush.
When I'm far enough out in the ocean I usually seize the opportunity to empty whatever is in there. That's the easiest way, but it doesn't give me the opportunity to do the fresh water flush thing.
John..... I don't know what was wrong with the spot it was at...it was fine.....it was out of the way from the launch ramps....and the entrance to the boat basin.....and had plenty of room for 2 boats.
Seams that they create problems for themselves....then try to figure out how to solve the problem. Then when they do they pat themselves on the back........its insane.

Today I went to Gilgo to pump out and again the pump out wasn't working so I ended up at Cedar Beach and it worked as it should. I also called the town to let them know that they're not working so they can repair them.

Yeah I pumped out at Cedar yesterday.
Marina Max is down.
AYC is down.
There are no pumpouts!
Cedar, someone spent the night in the pumpout slip.
When I got there he saud he was leaving and 40 minutes later he untied his 6 ropes and left.
I thought it was very rude, there was me and 1 other boat waiting.

They should put the bergen point pumpout under the control of the gas station there.
I am sure he wouldn't mind as pumpouts usually bring in fuel business.
Let him take hose in every night or put in a fenced cage that he locks at night.
Worst comes to worse there is some dockside pumpout guys. Yeah, its $50 but they really suck good!
This time of year, every town should have a pumpout boat or truck going around to keep our bays clean!
Anyone who dumps their tank in our bay is a idiot and is trashing boating for our children's future!

I believe it's actually under control of the sewage treatment plant. I saw someone having a problem with the nozzle a couple of years ago. He called the number on the pump out and a guy drove down from the plant within a few minutes and replaced the nozzle. In any event JoLin reports (below) that the pump out is now up and running.
