Best marine weather forecast website?

Is there a good, easy to use and understand marine weather website for the Hudson River? Preferably one that covers the Haverstraw area.

I go onto NOAA.gov, but sometimes feel as if I have to be a meteorologist to understand certain reports.

Since the weather forecasts are mostly wrong, why bother?

Seriously thou I've never found a marine oriented forecast for the Hudson river. I look at the local report for the area I'm at/going to and predict my own wave forecast. Getting pretty decent at it actually. If windy there will be waves. If really windy there will be big waves. if the wind is from the north Hogan will be at Bowline. I'm about 98% accurate.

I don't like to use only one, I look at several including radar and satellite, etc. and try to come up with my own conclusions. After a while you'll find a few that work best for you.

I prefer the weather service zone forecasts (text) products which give a lot of insight into what the forecasters are feeling on a given day, especially if severe weather is afoot. I forget the link but you can search on zone forecasts southeastern NY for more...

There isn't a lot of really good help for river forecasts. Years ago when I was at Fleetweather I used to be told, "oh, on the river we only forecast either light chop, moderate chop or heavy chop" because that's all you get out there." I replied, "have you ever actually been out there on a boat? That "heavy chop" could be six feet high!!!"
