Block Island... Finally

Over the past 3 years I've posted about going out to Block, only to not make the trip for one reason or another.

Just made reservations for 6/20 to 6/23 at Boat Basin so I finally get to take the family out there and check off a destination on my boating bucket list.

Should be fun... probably rent bikes rather than bring ours.

IMHO, one of the top boating destinations in all of New England. Great salt pond, bike rentals, The Oar, Mahogany Shoals for a wee-drink (walk over to Panes dock from the basin) and trips to downtown....can't wait to get out there myself. Should be a great time.

Second to Cuttyhunk, Block is still one of my favorites. Enjoy your trip!

We have not been there in a few years but it was one of our favorite places when we had a big boat. The boat basin is a good choice since you get a slip and are not rafted and the Oar is right there.

Block is a coveted destination and for good reason. I wish you a voyage where every event is a fun one and a fun visit there, with great weather both ways and over your stay.

Block is my favorite destination out east. The Oar has excellent sushi and mudslides. Make sure you get Payne's "Killer Donuts". There are great restaurants (Manisses & The Spring House are 2 of our favorites) and beautiful beaches. We will be there for a week right after July 4th weekend. Enjoy!
