I was just wondering how things are down in Bluepoint. We're at the Bluepoint Marina on Corey Creek. I really would like to go down there to check on the boat, but I know that was an evacuation area, so I don't know how the streets are or if power exists. Without electricity, the gate to the marina won't open. So, has anyone been down there? If so, how is it? Can I drive down and check on our lady? Hy

Just got back from Patchogue. Water is higher then high tide and it is almost low tide. If you want to try, you should go now, before tide starts to come back in.

I just got back from the marina. A long line of cars with paople going down to look at Great South Bay. "Lady M", our boat, is OK. She's floating almost level with the parking lot and probably was higher than the parking lot during the hurricane. The mooring cover popped loose in one corner and the center rod to keep it up fell dowm. Otherwise, I couldn't see anything wrong. Since she was floating at normal draft, I assume the bilge is basically clear. The shore power was still connected but I didn't go on board to check the electrical flow. I'll do that tomorrow when the tide and the wind die down. I was releived to see that my docklines/springlines worked perfectly. Hope all of you had the same luck. Stay safe, everyone. Hy
