Went to the Boat and RV Show in Sacramento yesterday. Wow has everything gotten expensive. Ski Boats or should I call them wakeboard/surf boats are $250K. I saw one that said it can hold 17 people. Also saw one that had a stern thruster. Didn't look to see if it had a bow thruster as well. My first ski boat was a 1984 Mastercraft Power Slot. I think I paid $18K. Talked to the Mastercraft dealer as they still have a direct drive ski boat. Wasn't as much as the wakeboard boats, but still close to $200K. He said they only sell about 6 of those a year compared to >100 wakeboard boats. I saw a slalom ski (minus bindings) for $2K on sale for $1700. Seadoos were $25K. For RVs, the MB Sprinters were close to $300K

It's difficult to accept the increase in price of boats and RVs. I don't believe salaries have risen as much as the expense of these items. I was at the Ft. Myers Boat show recently and came away with the same impression. If I was going to get into boating (again) it would be with a used boat. There are plenty of them available.

Good. Maybe the d-bags that buy them will be priced out. The are doing a good job of ruining my lake. Best thing that ever happened to Lake Powell was the loss of the mid lake marina. But they still drag them up behind house boats with 300gal toy tanks.

Bitcoin tycoons buying this crap. Nobody else can afford it. :)

We just recently bought a Key West 239 with a single 300 Yamaha. It was not much less $$ than what we paid for our 2017 Sea Fox 288 with twin 300 Yamahas 9 years ago. For some reason, boats, RVs, and colleges prices have risen much faster than inflation. For colleges, a lot has to do with scholarships / gov't subsidies, etc. When the students get more "free" money, the colleges know that they can pay more. I can't explain the boat and RV price craziness.
