My neighbor has a 23' late 70's era Sea Ray cuddy that needs a good burial. Where does one dispose of a boat in the area (and he's not thinking of sinking it in the river)? Any suggestions.

Thanks!

You can try Randy King of King's Marine in Verplank.

Some garbage haulers will take them. I brought a 15 footer to Bria Carting in Somers a couple of years ago, they weighed the trailer and boat when I brought it in, then weighed just the trailer after a forklift took the boat off. I paid for the difference (obviously I kept the trailer) which was something like $50 at the time...

I had a 21' boat, (Corona made by seahart) that I needed to junk. I stripped the boat and sold the out drive and motor. The small pieces (seats, pumps, guages, etc) I tossed in the garbage. When I got down to the hull I cut it up with a sawsall and put the pieces in my dumpster at work. I would think you could do the same and bring the boat piece by piece to your local garbage dump.

I dumped a 21 foot Bayliner Capri at the Clarkstown Dump once. No charge. Actually it was pretty cool. They cherry picked the boat from the stern and dropped it straight down on the bow.

Donate it to the boy scouts or something or call a junk yard to come and get it. If you have a trailer then, like others suggested, take it to the dump...
