Boat Hauler / captain recommendations

While the Albin is a very seaworthy boat, it is a 6-7 hour ride in the ocean. If you have a three day window to work with and are looking to hire a captain, you could be on the hook for more than a couple of bucks waiting for fair seas. The over land costs and timing are pretty much fixed. You know how much and you know when it will be. I don't think a three hour ride will hurt it much. Besides it's unknown how much of a workout bringing it around will be. Good luck with your new boat.

Thanks, the Albin will be quite an upgrade over the Bayliner, although she never did us wrong. Just to clarify, I am working with only 1 day, but I do not know when that exact day is. The dealer is performing the 500hr Yanmar service, which the mechanic said takes days, and with the holiday and backlog of work, the completion date is a moving target, guessing the end of the week of 6/3. The plan is to drive up for the last time to sea trial it, then load it on a trailer later that afternoon. I still have to register it in NY as the dealer does not handle out of state registration. For a documented boat, is there a grace period in NY to register the boat? It will be insured and I will have ownership paperwork, just need to get to the DMV and give them my donation.
