Boat launch near Croton Point

I have a new toy: 1997 Seadoo Speedster that I want to check out the river in and do some bass fishing this spring. I live in Yorktown and have spent time on the river in our Silverton 34X, but she is now up north on Sacandaga.
So, I was thinking about Peekskill, but wanted to launch closer. I remember there being a launch in Croton that is not open 24/7, but can't find it now?
Any suggestions?

There is a place at Croton Park that can be used only for kayaks and canoes. No motorized vessels allowed.

Walshie's marina, which is just north of Halfmoon bay marina, may have a launch ramp. I'm sure he'll be along soon to comment. (The name of his marina escapes me at the moment)
 
THX - Yup I don't think that the Seadoo could fit in that category :)
There is the Croton Yacht Club, is that the one you are thinking about? I thought that was private for members only?
 
Why not go to the Peekskill boat ramp. Its located in the River front green park area.

This is Rob, I own the 34X that was next to you last winter at Viking.
Hope you are doing well!
I do like the Peekskill ramp and did mention it in my first post. It looks to be well maintained and plenty of parking. I was wondering if there was anything closer to Croton, thus the post.

I didnt realise it was you! Isabelle and i are doing well. There is one there, but i dont remember just where. Ive surveyed vessels for sale by Zoller Marine and they use it now and then. Maybe you should give them a call.

I didn't even think of asking Zollers.
I know that the Hudson may not be the best water for the jet boat, but I would like to fish for stripers this spring.

Zollers uses the ramp at the Croton Yacht Club. It is members only but both of the brothers are members as was their dad.

Unfortunately, as I said in the e-mail it is private and the members have no interest in opening it to the public. There are many reasons for this: insurance, lack of enforcement (no employees), parking, etc.

I mentioned day sailing, we charge $31/ft, you are allowed to keep the boat on property and launch/retrieve as needed. We're also doing a fisherman's special this year. The rate of the slip is pro-rated but comes to about $50/week.

I'm pretty sure the village of Croton sells permits for their ramp at Senasqua Park. You can call the village recreation department. The only downside with this is, they tend to close their gates early so you might want to ask about that issue. http://village.croton-on-hudson.ny.us/Public_Documents/CrotonHudsonNY_Rec/index
