I called Chucks Marine, 789-9755, twice in the last 8 days and left 2 messages but no response. Any other suggestions on a good mechanic to call to fix a throttle problem. Boat is on a lift and would prefer to have the repair done at my dock. Thanks.

I have used Chuck for 12 of the 16 years that I lived in Copiague. He is the BEST and I hope all is well with him. He was always busy and it did take time for him to get to you. He even serviced my Diesel motorhome before we moved off the Island.
That's not a good number for him, and possibly why you haven't gotten a response.
I've been using him since Don (Double D)first told me about him 5 years ago. I use him exclusively for the stuff I'm unable to do.
Although I do 90% of my stuff myself, I am not by any means a boat mechanic. But I have been working on cars for about 45 of my almost 62 years, and am a pretty decent wrench turner overall.
I'm pointing out my mechanical experience only to qualify my recommendation to some degree. Chuck is an absolutely fantastic mechanic. He's very honest, and a really great guy. Like most people who deal with him, he has become more of a friend than anything else.

Not sure. He may have retired. I know that his son Rob, another really nice guy, was running it the last year few years.
Chuck's been sort of the house mechanic for some time. He pulled me out for a short haul there a couple of years ago to do my transom assemblies. I think he's leasing the whole place from them now. Hopefully it will work out for him. He's a great guy, and that yard is in a nice spot.
Update - I spoke to Chuck last week and when he didn't call me this week to set up an appointment I recalled him today. He apologized and stated the reason he didn't get back to me as promised was because his wife died a few weeks ago and his mother-in-law died this week. I am posting this in case anyone wants to send him their condolences.
