Boat name

Well, there are over 100 documented vessels with that name, so whether or not it would be cliche, it would not be unique.

I think that would be a fine choice. It seems like a natural for a boat name and I don't seem to remember ever seeing an "Aquarius" before.

Whatever you name it will be fine but make sure you are sold on it. Changing a boat's name is very tricky business and frought with danger and bad luck unless carried out with very precise ceremony and proper language. Good luck to Aquarius

I like your choice. Sure is better then AquaHolic; I've seen that on several boats in the delta.....

is there a way to see how if a name has been documented? I have a 2007 17.5' Bayliner 175BR, and I want to name her... but im new at this...

You can go to BoatUS's website and, with a little digging you can find the most popular boat names. With a boat your size a name will not be documented, meaning registered with the Coast Guard. So,any name you like is great, but like DBH warned...a renaming process can be a serious issue.

Prior to making the final determination of what name to use, think about how it would sound on the VHF....especially if you contacting the Coast Guard for help. For instance naming your boat "Maiday" regardless of how it is spelled would be a no-no. Long wordy names can be difficult to understand over the radio also.

A friend and I were joking around about naming it "Coke Boat" and the funny looks they'd get on their faces at the Coast Guard station when hearing your radio call.

what is the correct way to name a boat? I already have selected a name, but I have used the boat 1 time, does this matters?
