The NIMRODS at the NCMA couldn't put on a good boat show to save their lives! They are a joke!
They charged $15 at the spring show. $15 dollars for a boat show that hardly had any boats! I'm just thankful that the dealers were giving away plenty of free tickets! And yet I still felt screwed by attending!
I see they "lowered" the price to $10 for this show. LOL- It's still a joke! Even though I was emailed freebies, I'll pass...
As far as the Cow Palace vs. the Pleasanton shows go, there was no comparison. The Cow Palace was the King of boat shows. Nothing else came close.
Once again, the NIMRODS at the NCMA conned their members to bail on the VERY successful Cow Palace show in search of greener pastures. (they tried to do the same thing with the Moscone Boat show, but even managed to screw that one up).
The only reason they were at the P-Town location was due to the FACT that the circus tent was already there for the huge RV show. Without the RV show putting the tent there, there wouldn't have been a boat show there. Period.
Sure, the first two years were very nice shows in P-Town. But then, once again, the greed of the NCMA shined through and the show turned into a joke. By that time, Rooney (the CP promoter) had had enough and didn't want to waste his time or money by starting up another CP show. Every year since after the first two, the P-Town show went downhill. And that was BEFORE the economy took a dump. The last few were a complete disaster!
The bottom line: No show in the Bay Area's HISTORY sold as many boats overall as the Cow Palace show. Period.
But the NCMA had to have their way.
Well... They got it...
And now there's nothing... [xx(]
Great job NCMA!!! [:-thumbd][:-thumbd][:-thumbd]
