I'm headed down to the Bohemia this weekend (9/15 and 9/16). Anybody else going to be around?

I'll be on the Sass this weekend. We have to leave early on Sunday for a family function.

A run to the Sassafras is not out of the question--where do you plan on dropping the hook?

I just got a new engine installed and need to run her a bit, so I might be interested in hangin' on Saturday. The Sass would work for me as well, but the Flats or Sand Island are my favorites.

Hey Rob, what's happening? I've been trying to get together with you a couple of times now. We just missed on the 4th of July, I was at Northeast overnight for the fireworks and tried to raise you on the VHF, but no luck. I think I'm going to be running stag this weekend, although a couple of friends may show. I don't care where I go as long as I get to run the boat, I haven't been out since mid-August.

I know what you mean...We were OOC with a sick engine since August 7th and it was killing me. We finally got things finished up last Friday afternoon and put 3 easy hours on her Saturday with NO problems.
I think a Sassafras run would be a good idea if the weather is decent.
While open to any other suggestions, I'll vote for "$1.98 Beach" (named by MikeeH) which is about 500 yards into the no-wake zone along the south shore- and only a half mile or so from Skipjack Cove (hence the name). We've always rafted in 8'-10' depths, not near the shore. If swimming is on the agenda, we deploy PFD's or floats tied to a line and hang onto them.
At this point I'm not sure who'll be crewing for me. Might be the family, some friends, a neighbor, or ??. At any rate, we probably won't arrive until at least 11AM. If you beat me there save a spot.
High tide is just after 12 noon on Saturday so plan accordingly.

Rob

$1.98 beach is a popular spot for us. We like Back Creek too.

We'll be running the in-laws out of Port Deposit, probably to Fairlee and back on Saturday. PLan to spend Saturday night in HdG, so we should get to see Arks if he's not staying out all night. Sunday plans are unknown at this point....

I have to replace a couple of moorings for my grandmother on the Bohemia on Saturday. I am hoping to get there early and get it done, after which I should be heading out on the boat. I will stay on channel 68 so if you want to monitor I'll give a shout. My boat's name is the Katie M. It's a black and grey Nova III about 28'. --Stan

We're planning on getting "Still In the Mood" (our "new to us" 50' CC Connie) out to $1.98 beach this weekend. If anyone is around, stop and say howdy!

Dang. We can easily do it, but it's still annoying. Perhaps a short trip from Rock Creek to Baltimore for the Irish Festival will do.

C_Spray - we need to get together again. Downtown is a great place in the Fall as we've got a buddy with a killer Ravens tailgate party every home game.

Are you guys BOATERS or boaters????? Or whethermen??? I just got a case of Corona and I think I know the cure. Someone bring limes.

If I absolutely had to be somewhere in 15-20, I might do it. But when the object is just going someplace to go someplace, I usually cut it off at 15. 10-15 or even sustained 15 is fine, but 20 starts to annoy the Admiral. Although, we might awake tomorrow to find nothing. It's almost always been when they've forecast 5-10KT and less than 1 foot that I've had the crap kicked out of me by 40KT and 6-8!

Got a little worse - Gusts to 25. I might not mind (nor my boat), but the in-laws won't be happy.

(HMMMMMMM........)
