Boating this weekend on the Bay (9/15, 9/16)

I drove up to Fairlee Creek on Saturday. At noon, there were seven boats anchored in the whole place: a trawler, a sedan fish, and five sailboats, and none of them anywhere near the beach, which was totally unoccupied.

Where's $1.98 beach?

1.98 beach is up on the Sassafras almost to Georgetown Yacht Basin. I went there Sat. night and there were 6 boats all told, me included. It was a beautiful night, calm, clear and crisp. sorry I didn't get the chance to meet up with anyone. I called on 68 and 9 for Veggas, In the Mood, Winter's Dream, And Deuce. no luck, or my radio isn't working. Those Coronas went down smooth with the cigars. But noone brought me any limes.

Thanks for the tip. That would be on the south side of the river?

Sorry I missed you again Stan. The Small Craft Advisory convinced me to stay put. On Sunday afternoon I ended up hitching a ride to Stillpond with C Spray on his beautiful 38 Formula.

Your radio is probably fine. You just didn't have the range to reach me as we decided to head up to our winter getaway in PA (ski condo at Blue Knob outside of Altoona). While I didn't get to use the boat, I did get to have my first fire of the season (it got down to the mid 30's up there). However, I'm in the middle of a haul-out this week for some regular maintenance and fully expect to be back out next weekend. Who's up for Still Pond?

$1.98 beach is right across from Skipjack Cove Marina.
Stan, sorry for not having my radio on. We actually stayed in the slip Saturday night. We had a family commitment early on Sunday. We plan on being out Friday and Saturday night.
You planning on coming back this weekend?

Unfortunately, it doesn't look good. My wife is due with our third babygirl in a couple of weeks and the weekends from here on out is stay close to home time. Next spring will probably the next time I get the boat down that way.

Congrats on the expecting child!!!! I guess we will have to wait until next year to get together on the Sass.

The Admiral had an unexpected "emergency" (one of the kids...) and was out of town. I'm not yet good enough to handle the 50 footer singlehanded in 20+ winds! I worked on her in the slip all weekend...

Thanks, Craig, hopefully we'll see you next year. Jim, as my uncle used to say "Caca Occurs" We'll have to try again.
