Humbly requesting advice of more seasoned boaters. We are on our third season with a 1997 21' Regal open bow. Having first baby end of July. Husband, although deliriously happy, is devastated that boating season may be cut short for us. Of course I have assured him that he can feel free to keep boating without me, with other friends etc etc.
When, realistically, can an infant go out in a boat? I've seen life vests for 0-30 pounds (never seen the 0 pound baby) but how young is too young? We generally go out on Lake Lewisville (23K acres, 67 ft depth) or Texoma (89K acres, 100 ft depth) in the daytime with good weather.
Any advice is greatly appreciated.
