I painted the bottom of my boat with micron multiseason paint in the beginning of last season. When I took the boat out of the water in the fall I had the bottom power washed. My question is whether or not that had any affect on the longevity of the paint. In other words should I apply another coat of paint before putting the boat back into the water?

The antifouling ingredients are chemically bonded into Micron Extra’s copolymer matrix, which is engineered to gradually wear away as the boat moves through the water, much like a bar of soap. This self-polishing process results in the constant, controlled delivery of biocides from freshly exposed paint film surface, and assures consistent, long-lasting performance and maximum efficiency.

Interlux Micron Extra retains it’s antifouling effectiveness when hauled and can be relaunched without repainting. The longevity of Micron Extra is related to the amount of bottom paint applied.

I used Micron Extra as well and I touch it up every year as there are always spots that wear faster than others. I have a coat of orange underneath a coat of black. Every spring whereever I see orange, I touch up.

Depends on who was doing the power washing and how much extra paint they took off.
