There are a number of rumors swirling around at the marina concerning Bowline. Seems someone saw some barges in bowline and now a number of people are saying that the entrance to bowline has been cleared of all obstacle's, dreged and even the brick piles inside have been removed.

As far as I know this is pure BS but I was wondering if anyone knows something about this. Can you still see the pile at low tide? Haven't been in there at low tide in a while.

I saw the barge in there, it was performing work on the power plant intakes.

The rock wall is alive and well, my son was standing on it yesterday.

Oh the pile is still there. Can give you several names of people who have found it the hard way.

Thanks for the update Mike. I thought as much. I told the guys I talked to that the wall was still there I just hadn't seen it.

Honora, not sure if there is more than one or what it is made from exactly just know you don't want to hit it! Also there are submerged, at high tide, pilings at the entrance towards the starboard side as you enter so keeping left is important.

Dont forget to mention that you cant get to close to the left side either as you enter due to the bricks that are along the shore line. I have even hit on that side. The entrance is also known for having things get caught in it. Look at the posts from the beginning of the season where several boats from Haverstraw hit as they where entering and they knew about the dangers of going in.

Yes, it is highly recommended that people avoid Bowline as it it too dangerous to enter, and everyone's anchors always drag.

"Mr. Gorbachev, tear down this wall!"

I hear the wall is sponsored by Precision Propellers and SeaTow salvage. Is this the same wall that Caryl complains she's talking to?

One of these days I'll have to get the courage to enter bowline alone...if I do, there goes the neighborhood. You guys have the wall, we have signs to keep the riff-raft out...last one in bolt the door.

LOL! Sounds like the wall we have coming out of our cove on Lake Mahopac - its made us and Precision Propellers a LOT of money over the years!!!

But we even got your old boat across that wall when it was here, Chris!!!

I have been there a few times during the week when the is a barge in there and the channel is marked with orange balls, about 8 of them. When there is no barge there is just just one orange ball marking the end of the Wall....
