Brannen Isl State Park [Rio Vista] to Close

I'm 100% against the tax extensions. Defund benefits for illegals - that'll pay for the parks and more. Unless that happens I will never support new or extensions of taxes.

Well, I am not surprised about BI being on the list.

The place has been pretty much ignored and a haven for dope fiends and riff-raff for years.

Numerous boat/RV and tent area thefts have occured as well as violent crimes to innocent people.

Maybe a closure for a few years or so might help the place out???

The gubmint spending is a whole other ten page issue...
 
BAB, I'm not aware of the issues you are alleging. Do you have any recent [within 5 yrs] backup to substantiate any of these? Or are you basing this is, say, the 1970's when the Delta was pretty much the wild, wild west?????
 
Well, I don't have copies of the police reports to prove my statements and it doesn't really bother me that you don't believe them.

But the FACT is that the stated crimes and riff-raff have been a fixture at that facility for the past 10 years or so. The crimes against people have been in the local news all too often. The most recent was a stabbing last fall. Two drunks got into an argument and one stabbed the other.

Actually, we quite often boated and camped at BI during the late 70's and into the mid 80's.

It was peaceful back then. These days, are what I would refer to as the "wild, wild west"...
