***BULKHEAD w/ 3 SLIP / DOCK ELEC/ WATER

I can have anyone work on boat.
If they don't have the proper insurance then they are a friend giving me a hand.
Same with washing as long as truck is un marked.
Direct marine fuel, no, but we get a .10 discount over at AYC fuel dock.
5 minutes out I am full throttle to most popular destinations.

While my (almost) new2me boat fits in my current slip, we almost always head east to FI every weekend so I figured this would be a good time to relocate and save on fuel.

AYC is a great choice. Close to lots of things and up on plane in the Bay very shortly after you untie.
I probably would have bought something in there if I hadn't found a spot for sale where I am now.
I'm a little west of there. Private property (bulkhead). Also up and running very shortly after I pull away from the dock.
I love the areas west of the Wantagh, but going back to a long canal ride or 5MPH zones outside the canal would be a little tough for me after getting spoiled for the past several years.
 
The reduced travel time/distance will more than make up for anything you are saving on fuel with Direct Marine fuel.
 
Yeah, we have a little ride before we can go up on plane but the trade off is we get the protection of the houses and trees. I can't tell you the number of times we've been caught out there when there were small craft advisories but when get up to our dock it's like a summer breeze and docking is simple. And we use the no wake zone to clean and organize the boat so we don't even notice the time.

Jeff, is that the end of bellmore creek? Looks like it. Spent a lot of boating years up and down that canal
 
Thats what I am on the fence about is the ride from the dock to the bay..

Thats a LOOOOONG canal.

Id use that space for my little boat, and I dont know if I want spend that much time going that slow just to get to my slip..

Thats one of my issues...
 
Matt, jeff is right using the ride down the canal to work on cleaning is what I've always done. Makes things that much easier at the dock
 
I wouldnt mind doing that if I had the Searay up here, but not much to clean up on a 17ft center console
 
I was up that canal, on the west fork, many years ago. The ride is a little long, but it is a great location real close to the Wantagh Parkway, and a relatively short ride to the Jones Inlet, Freeport, or Zach's Bay once you clear the canal. It is real protected up there too.
Many years ago I knew someone who rented a slip in that lagoon where Jeff is selling the dock space. I seem to remember it being behind a house opposite Jeff's property. Anyway, the guy loved it up there.

Jeff: Depending on where you go you might still be able to get fuel by truck. That's how I usually get it. The price is fair and the gas is fresh. If for some reason I can't wait to get it by truck I go to either SS3 or the Anchorage. It cost more than the truck, but always good fresh gas.
 
Id buy a piece of land like Jeffs if it was closer to the bay. Im still thinking about his but, its going to take a lot to get me to do it I feel.
 
rb2@gr5tJVM, yeah, the guys across the canal has a bunch of slips for rent. heck, even my father had his Bayliner (the Quick Decision) across there about 20 years ago.

For me, the truck delivery thing has been a godsend...not only to save a few bucks (not going to turn that down) but because of the time savings and safety factor. I hated hanging around the fuel docks because half (the none boatered half) the boaters out there have no idea what they are doing when it comes to approaching a fueling area.
