Ok, I was happy with my basic cable, no big issues. I don't have alot of time for TV and when I do, I prefer a DVD.
But cable decides to move the SOAP channel over to their IO lineup, so they force me to break down and get a digital cable box.
SO I call up, they say $5.00 more for box, I say WTF, and give in. This after I debated the whole satellite/cable thing and decided I didn't want to start dealing with running new wires, hanging dish, etc.
So they say they can ship the box to me. I say, great, ship it. Mistake #1...they expect me to be home to sign for it. WTF....So after 3 tries he leaves it with a my neighbot and about a week later, I have my box.
This morning, wife is bugging me for her SOAP, so I say WTF, and I hook up box. Not rocket science, 2 wires. Box works fine, hookup was easy, but when we go to SOAP network, it says not authroized....WTF.
I check MTV, no signal, WTF.
CNN.....no signal.
Only channels I get are below 13.
I don't even get channel 12.
I bypass the box, all is fine, all channels, just no SOAP....WTF
Call cable, on phone for 1 hour....first they tell me there is a outage in my area....WTF....kitchen TV...CNN...no problem...den TV thru box, no CNN.....Am I stupid, cable works fine...WTF
So I think it is box, but they want to send out a technician. I say WTF, I sat on phone for a hour, now I am gonna kill a nice crisp fall day waiting for some kid to come out and tell me the box is bad. The guy says its not the box...that it needs a few hours to update...wtf....So he wants me to watch another TV while the box updates....WTF!
So I split the signal, bypassed the box, the box is on and it can update all it wants, I am watching all my channels except SOAP thru my DVD recorder....WTF.
Cablevision....WTF
I think you just made my satellite decision even easier now!
