I need most of my zippers replaced and am looking for recommendations for a reliable person. I have read posts about AMC, do they do repairs or just new?
 
They do both.......and IMHO are the best at what they do.
 
They have repaired zippers for me and made a mooring cover. Excellent work, reasonable prices and all work finished either on time or before it was promised. Very highly recommended.
 
AMC - Don't waste time anywhere else. Did the zipper on my old boat. Consider plastic zippers.

What more can I add? They did my camperback, frames and all. Go to them. Hy (Frank, do each of us get a discount when we come back for more repairs or replacements?)
 
I think discounts are factored in.
Tony reads BE, so he knows who takes care of him.
I never get a price from them that I say "whoa" and If I do, I work with him to find out why and how I can cut cost.
 
I didn't have time before to write this in my last post before but I need to tell you about this so you know what kind of guys they are.

i have a one year old newfoundland puppy who had spinal surgery and will not be able to walk for 2-5 months. The admiral had guys she works with build a cart based on one the dog's neurologist had custom made for his practice. It needed a canvas sling in which the dog would be placed with holes provided for her legs and tail. I suggested that we try AMC. THe admiral calls and explains what we need, they tell her to bring the cart in and they will see what they can do. This was about 5:00p.m. on a weekday. She brings it in and they told her they can do it, and then they asked her where is the dog now? The admiral tells them that she is on the floor, and cant walk, we need the cart to help her learn how to walk again. He says holy s...t, I 'll have it ready for you tomorrow morning. And he did.

BTW the dog is progressing fine, she has taken her first steps without any support.
 
Honest business men with real hearts......hard to beat...............glad to hear your dog is progressing.

Sheesh! Nice goin', guys. I need a new bimini made this spring, and now they'll be swamped!

(ditto what everyone else said about AMC. I had several enclosure repairs done last year. They did a good job, quick and reasonably priced).
 
Another vote for AMC. I had them do a little work on my canvass for my 30' Sundancer this winter. Fair price, great work, and real quick turnaround. They also made me up some screen pieces right in the middle of last summer and they were just as good and quick in the height of the season.
 
PS, Tony is the Canvas Nazi, (Seinfeld soup Nazi), piss him off and........... No Canvas for You!!! :)

I have never used AMC, but its sounds like you would be crazy not to!

BTW: Do NOT use any of the shops in Huntington!

Thanks for the replies guys, I think I'll be giving a call to AMC.
 
Amc just finished my glass replacement. I was going to replace my back drop and they recommended just repairing. So they redeemed themselves with flying colors.

Also the work is TOP NOTCH. I never say that !

AMC replaced the glass in two side curtains I brought them and replaced the velcro on the sides of the flap on my back drop curtain with zippers about a month or so ago. They called me the next day to tell me it was all ready.
They made two new side curtains with screens for me in the middle of the summer and they were installed by the end of the day after I walked in to ask them to do it.
The quality of their work is fantastic and the prices are very fair.
