Capt. Bill 1's Project Boat

Thanks Nancy.

I'm having some professional shots done right now and will post some of them when I get them in.

The covers for everything were done by a local canvas lady here in Ft. Lauderdale. They are lined with car cover material to protected the wood finish.

And I'd be glad to pass every ones contact info along. The cabinet maker finished up today. Would you like me to send it to you or Pascal? If you would like them yourself just send me an Email at capt.bill11 at verizon dot net

More inlay. This is on the butcher block top of the cabinet in the galley that was made to hold the new icemaker and wine chiller.

The new pop up TV cabinet and wet bar the cabinet maker made. The TV cabinet is set up so you can watch the TV either up or down for when you are underway. I'm having a pair of inlays made in the same design as the ones on the table tops that will mount on the front of the TV cabinet doors. They will split apart at the seam where the doors fold as you open the doors. It should break up the big wooden wall look that the cabinet has now. (Sorry about the focus. I was using available light without a tripod.)

Clear panels I had installed on the gensets. So now you don't have to open them up just to check on the gensets while doing your engine room checks when underway. (The gensets had not been cleaned at the time the pictures were taken.)

I installed mechanical gauges on the gensets.

Freshly painted engines. And a nice big new tool chest.

That is quite a refurbishment that you are just about finished with. I think that it is much more rewarding to plan for and accomplish a job like that than it is just to go out and purchase a new ____ (whatever it is). I had not noticed or read this thread before, but have enjoyed it today.

I am especially impressed with the wood work. I like to do wood work, but I am not in the league of the person who did your cabinetry nor the inlay.

Very Very Nice. This too is cool thread. Aren't you shoving off soon? Is shoving off the correct phase for a boat like this?:)

Hi all,
Kudos go out to Capt Bill and his team for doing a fabulous job bringing Solstice I to new life. I recently did the photo shoot on the yacht, but have a new appreciation for what Bill accomplished after seeing the "before" photos here.
Bill has the set of pictures and should be posting soon once he finds time in his busy schedule. I'll give a teaser here with a shot of the bridge at night.
Nice job, Bill.

Between the boat pics and the Bahama pics I'm feeling pretty high right now!!

Better late than never, here are some more of Capt. Tom's photos of the boat.

Just awesome looking! You guys did a great job on the refurbishment.

Beautiful job but what amazes me is how quickly it came together. It would take us that long to pick a color. :)

Capt' Bill I had been off the forum for a while. Great to see the finished work and very nice photography form Capt. Tom. I would love to spend some time on a boat like that :. Maybe if I win powerball tonight....

Thanks for all your kind words for myself and Capt. Tom. As you can imagine there were a lot of people involved in this project and I will pass along your complements to them as well.

Any RO is welcome aboard for a tour and visit anytime they are in the area. As long as we don't have guests on board of course. :-)

More fascinating than it is stunning-one of the all time great BE threads.

Humbling to see the crew's bunks have the same bedding as our master bedroom...

Thanks Jeff.

As to the bedding, I guess we both just have good taste. :-)

Bill,

Where are you these days? We're heading back to the Exumas the last week of March if you are around.
