Does anyone know where the head exhaust fan motor is mounted? It quit working and I can not locate it.

After looking in the lower station, the head and searching the stateroom near the water tank compartment, I can not find it.

Thanks, Paul

Unless I'm mistaken, the 3227 is laid out similar to my '82 3007. If that's the case, the exhaust fan motor for the head is located behind the starboard salon wall just aft of the lower helm station. You can get to it by removing the panel under the starboard salon windows. The engine space blower fan is there too, but it's further aft than the head fan.

its behind the cabinet which you slide out to get to it. I put a 3" in line fan to replace the old squirel cage

Thanks Guys That is where it is located. It looks like to much work during the boat trip and I will have to wait until I get back home. It's in a dificult to get to location. Thanks again, Paul

I have just started to remove the cabinet to repair the head blower. I have removed all screws and wood braces from the cabinet. The cabinet moves a little, but will not slide out as expected. It appears that you should be able to lean it over and pull up to slide out.

Does anyone have any suggestions to remove the cabinet without doing any damage. Thanks, Paul

on mine before I replaced the cabinet I had to un screw the electrical panels, pull them out and feed them back in behind the cabinet. that way when you pull the cabinet out it doesnt pull all of the wires with it. You will have to work side to side and up and down it doesnt sjust slide out

Thanks for the responses. I attempted to remove the cabinet but it looked like it would be damaged. Repairing the head exhaust fan would be easily with the cabinet removed.

I removed the two AC panels and the DC panel, and set them aside (DC to the left and the AC to the right)still connect and energized. I then crawled into the opening and was able to remove the exhaust fan by removing two screws and slipping it off the third screw. The flexible hose just fits into the fan housing.

Thanks for the help. Paul
