I had the boat out for the first time this weekend. It ran great with the new elbows and no signs of overheating with good temps and oil pressure. I did have a failure of the pressure water pump. At some point during the weekend it quit cycling on so I hooked up the shore water and turned it off. As I had a boatload of people, I did not pull up the floors and look at the entire setup. Does anyone know what pump is on their boat and what they replaced it with. I don't think there is an accumulator in the system. BOM list a Shurflo 3.8 GPM. I was thinking of buying this pump: http://www.amazon.com/SHURflo-5900-...M326/ref=sr_1_6?ie=UTF8&qid=1306844008&sr=8-6 Any thoughts or advice. Thanks.

I installed that pump on my boat two years ago and would not recommend it. The variable speed sounds great but it has not functioned correctly since new and I am thinking of replacing it. The pressure sensor does not work properly and is not available. I have had better luck with a simple pump and an expansion tank to prevent it from cycling.

I was thinking the same thing. I ordered the regular pump and will install the accumulator if it necessary.

Thanks

on our 356 the water pump is the loudest item on the boat. it works great, but boy is it noisy. if i were to replace mine, i would try to find a quieter unit. mho
