The slideing entrance door on my boat is very stiff. I have tried adjusting it, and lubricating the tracks with teflon spray. Both produced only slightly better results. Can any one tell me if this is normal, and if not, any thoughts? Trevor ps this is to keep the admiral happy

Has it always been like this or is this a new developement?

I only purchased this boat early 2008, and yes, since I have owed it, the door has been stiff.

Hey Naut,

I have a 2001 356 and my hatch would not latch and it was also hard to push. There are three leveling screws on the bottom of the door. Have someone inside and lift the door so there is no weight on the levelers. Loosen them and make sure they all drop down ( not too much or the nuts come off ). Slide the door over to the latch and make sure it lines up with the frame and tighten the leveling screws. I used WD40 to lube the bottom and top tracks and my door works great now. Hope this helps. One more thing. There is a tension knob on the top track that may have locked down and you did not realize it.

Thanks Billy K. I had seen those screw on the bottom of the door before, but did not think to much about them. What you said makes perfect sense. Thanks for the post and I will try this weekend. Enjoy.
