Hi Bryan!
I have hull #7 of the 2003 intro year and in my personal opinion it is one of the best looking Carver boats built...the styling lines all look right. It's a great boat for 2 people to live on (I live on mine Thursday through Monday almost every weekend)
We like the elevated dining area in the salon with 360 degree views and the fact that the two staterooms are downstairs separated from the living / entertaining area. The location of the galley near the cockpit allows easy access for entertaining on the bridge or cockpit.
Boat has solid fiberglass bottom and no wood below the waterline.
Bridge in some views is a little small for large entertaining and some don't like that the one head in the forward part of the boat.
The shower is large but it does share the head which some don't like....and forget the toliet paper holder in the shower cabinet..no way to keep from getting wet. Some don't like having the forward air unit mounted under the bed - never an issue for me.
We boat in Lake Michigan so water can get sloppy. Boat handles well but is closer to a bridge boat than a Cruiser so you will have windage impact in particular with the full canvas......Boat is heavy at around 24,000 pounds so it is stable.
Engine layout is reasonable with midship mounted engines for better stability and engine room space.
Have most every option except bow thruster, lower helm (yes, they are out there), lake water washdown, gray water tank.
I have gas motors - if I had diesels I don't think I would ever sell the boat - although gas on Lake Michigan in general has made more sense for us.
For the most part minor problems since the boat was new - mostly on component systems.
Biggest issue to date was Carver used excess fuel hose from deck fill to tank on starboard side and there was a significant low spot and with E10 alcohol fuel and additive it recently the hose membrane gave way and we ended up with more fuel than I would like in the bilge.
my opinions but hope this helps.
