Carver Crusader Oil

All,

My new boat (2005 Carver 33 SS, this Saturday... I hope) comes with Crusader 6.0 HO Captain's Choice engines. I am thinking of using synthetic oil. Does anyone use this? Is this benficial, unnecessary, or bad? I was gogin to use mobile one.

There is some controversy about the use of synthetic oils. Those that don't like synthetics say the oil is so "slippery" that it runs into the oil pan too easily, and will not adequately coat internal components when the boat is not used for awhile (i.e. storage).

I have no opinion either way, but I simply go with what Crusader recommended for my engines - straight 40 weight oil (which is a little bit hard to find).
