Hi all,
I have a question regarding a Mariner 3396 that I am looking at.
One of the engines is siezed (not sure which one as of yet).
The question that I have is this: are the engines counter-rotating?
They are 302 fords acording to the owner. I wanted to check the prices of a replacement engine. Aparently rotation is a determining factor.
It is inboard drive (twin screw?)
Owner states that the one engine runs well. he isn't sure what happened to the other.
Is an engine swap in an inboard harder than an I/O?
I am very mechanically inclined so would be doing much of the work myself. The most intimidating factor would be the shaft alignment. Is this process very hard? Of course I will have a factory service manual to refer to, just trying to get the skinny since I am not familiar with twin engine setups. I hear tell that they are a dream to handle.
Thanks for the info,
Michael & Sharon
