Bruce, did you ever find an answer to your question? We have a 96 325 with grey windows and in some spots there is signs of bubbling. There is one spot where there is some white residue (oxidation?) and one area that is faded due to sun exposure. We have been thinking they are powder coated and have been asking around about how to fix this stuff up.
yes they are painted or maybe power coated, not anodized, and no i never found an answer. I cant find any info on the white carver used on the radar arch either. I realize that colors fade but if I use the original match I expect to get close then I'll paint an entire piece but it will sort of match the other distinct pieces.
A good paint/gel coat guy might be able to get an acceptable match - I've seen some guys do pretty good repair jobs. At least I hope so, because I need to contact one (see HRCC thread for details on a recent mishap). Like you said, you probably need to paint the entire piece and hope its close to the remaining ones. Or just do everything in a different color if you have the time, patience and/or money...
If I can get a piece off a paint shop will match it for me but I would prefer to use a marine paint instead of automotive so I would like to find something like an off the shelf Interlux color. If I keep getting lazier I might just shop the entire job out then all I have to do is bitch and write checks.

The white arch paint is made by Awl Cat, and should be carried by your dealer. I'm not sure of the color name, but we always have at least a qt in stock

I have been in contact with what is apparently the original manufacturer of the windows used on our 96 Carver (Taylor Marine). Here are the salient elements of what I was told:
1) The Grey window frames used on our 96 325 aftcabin are powder coated.
2) They cautionned that removing the frames might be very difficult as many boat manufacturer's do not put in sufficient support and that with time the hardtops above compress down on the frames.
3) I was told that the best course would be to sand the frames then prime with an emeron based primer followed by painting with an automotive paint. - Apparenlty this could be done on the whole frame or just used to fix areas with damge (assuming a color match is found).

Interesting commentary from the MFR about support above the window frames. Where have I heard that before? Oh yeah - good ol' Dave Pascoe. Not sure if Carver is guilty of it, but if so they surely are not alone in that regard...
