I have the manuals still for my 370 if anybody ever needs to know something or needs a copy. The Carver owners packet is pretty extensive.

I have an extra 1990 Santigo manual if anyone needs it. Never had a 90 Montego one for our boat, but the systems are the same.

I have an '86 3297 Mariner-same boat (your boat is keeless though...mine has a keel). It's a great boat for cruising, sitting at the dock, entertaining or what have you. I've done lots of work on mine over the last 6 yrs and have gotten to know it quite intimately. There is a thread in this forum that can link you to Carver archive where you can download the brochure that Carver produced when they were sold-interesting stuff. I would love to get my hands on a copy of Boating Magazine's boat test of this model if anyone would have it. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask and enjoy your new boat.

RICH THANKS, I'LL TRY TO FIND ARCHIVE&BROCHURE.
WHAT DO U THINK ABOUT NO KEEL?TO ME THIS BOAT HAS MORE ROOM THEN SOME 34'BOATS.I DID ALOT OF LOOKING AT BIGER BOATS BUT THIS IS SET UP THE BEST FOR MY FAMILY OF6.THEY ALL CAN SIT ON TOP AT THE SAME TIME ON THE GO.ANY BAD THING U DONT LIKE?#74

The rather flat bottom and keeless hull on the '87 and newer Mariners will relegate these boats to relatively quiet waters. While I have taken my boat into the gulf and larger bays, when the water gets choppy, the ride is not real pleasant-nothing cuts thru snotty water better than a deep vee. The upside is that these boats plane quickly and aren't real thirsty and the small blocks push the boat along pretty well. I've never been able to find out why they dropped the keel after '86 on the Mariners and the supposedly identical hulls of the Montego. The only thing I didn't like was not being able to see the stern when I was backing in-a common complaint with sedan bridges. My first slip was 13' wide and with the 12'4" beam, it was very tight and shoe horning the boat in on a windy day made docking a chore. Since I've moved to a 14' slip, that issue has gone away. They are a well made, solid boat. As you said, the whole crowd can sit up top, its great for cruising, watching fireworks and for me fishing. I've got one rod holder at the bow, and one on each end of the bridge where I can keep an eye on the rods, the water and the women folk. Yes.....it's good to be king!!!

THANKS FOR ALL THAT INFO.U HAVE BEEN A BIG HELP.THE FISHING POLE HOLDER ARE GOING ON RIGHT AWAY.FISHING ON THE BRIGE AND SWING THEM IN THE COCKPIT.NICE SETUP.HOW MENY GALLONS DO THEY USE AT 16 NOTS??

THANKS BAYRAT

I've searched my favorites for the brochures-couldn't find it either. As I recall, it was an RO with Carver and a number after screen name who first turned me on to the archives- I believe he had a 28' Mariner and was a bit of an historian and very knowledgable. I spent several hours looking at all the different years of brochures-very interesting. I have the 1986 brouchure for all Carvers produced that year in PDF format. Let me know if you want me to email it.

My wife and I just bought a 1990 Mariner 32. We are loving it, but right now we have stripped out all the upholstery, window covers, and bedding to replace them. My starboard fuel gage doesn't work, my Battery 1 voltmeter doesn't indicate, the generator won't start, etc. Pretty much what I expected from an old boat. So far my never-rebuilt engines are going strong, so I guess I'm lucky!

The Carver website gives the spec sheet and brochure for 1989. You might find that fun to check out.

Spec sheets are for 1987 or 1991 only:

I could use a copy is this electronic or hard copy? I have a hard copy of th 1990 2557 and I believe it is a Maintenance manual. I can't find any instructions to use the Hot water heater or toilet there are numerous valves handles under the front bed in the closets etc I have to experiment to test. New owner. Thx.
