Carver Mariner Berth remodel

Hi there,
I have a '93 330 Mariner and the Admiral and I get tired of climbing over each other in order to get in and out of the master berth. (not that it's always a bad thing)

Has anyone considered or completed a berth remodel on their Mariner? I'm talking about re-configuring the "starboard side" berth to a centerline berth as found on the newer Mariners?

Would something like that even be possible?

I also have a '93 Mariner. The idea sounds interesting, but can't figure how you would do that. Seems like it would be more trouble than it would be worth. My Admiral solved the problem - has me sleeping on the sofa

I have an '80 3396 and have the same 'problem', but we've learned to live with it. Actually, I'm the only one that needs to get up in the middle of the night and so I sleep on the outside. Still, it would be nice to havea center berth ....

I imagine the impediment in older models was cabin headroom, or perhaps the need to put a tank or something under the berth... But some ingenuity might solve your problem. Perhaps a good interior designer can give some ideas...

Thanks all for the input. I've given it some thought, and poking around, and I'm thinking it may just be cost prohibitive.
I think if I want a centerline berth, I'll have to convince the admiral that it's time for a new boat.
