Carver Montego Holding Tank???

Has anyone with a 32 Montego installed a holding tank larger than the 20 gallon? Redoing the entire waste side and want to maximize my capacity.

On a side note, can you install two tanks in sequence?

Hey Jim,
I wouldn't do 2 in sequence...clogging issues I would think. I have replaced tanks with larger ones before, although not in a 3257. Measure space available and get the largest tank you can and still have access to all of the fittings. If you need, get a hold of me at my e-mail address and I can see what is available close to the size you need.
 
Good Luck with trying to find room for a larger holding tank. That was the problem. I replaced that tank with the largest I could find without going custom that fit in the present access hole. The only way is to cut a larger hole in the present area. We survived weekends out on the hook with 2 adults and 2 children for 10 years and going out on vacations. It's called going to the pump out every weekend. I'm so glad we have an 80gl holding tank now.
 
"I'm so glad we have an 80gl holding tank now" Yet another difference I have two 50s I have to flip a Y valve to pump out one them then switch it to pump the other. I have not filled either tank as of yet.
 
Thanks for the info. I ordered a tank 5 gallons larger. Replacing all of the plumbing on the waste side. Ditching the macerator for obvious reasons. Taking the time to re-bed the intakes, problem solve some janky wiring , and repair some stringer/hull joints. Ohh the fun in owning an old boat!

On the positive side, I shall have a bone dry bilge this summer with a brand new and odorless/issue-less sanitation system. If I can get my new props made and the boat floating in time that is!

I'll have to come over and see all of the improvements this summer. I'm scheduled to launch on the 28th. When are you launching?
 
I want to be out of my storage condo this month so I don't have to rent it an additional month, but I am also waiting on an insurance settlement so I can order new props which are probably not in stock and will have to be made. So, it's a definitive "I have no clue"!

I have a spare set of 3 blade props for the boat I can sell to you cheap. They are 18 x 22 if my memory is correct.

No, we're on Lake Erie here and they won't allow that type of system.
