We left the Dominion ramp at 6:00am on 7/24/06. The seas were smooth with very little wind coming out of the northeast. Jim's guests, Bob, and Jim, wanted a demonstration on casting sinking fly line before we entered any productive waters. They were very fast learners and within no time we were headed towards a point that had very swift current running across it.

I had planned to keep them in skinny waters, but one must be flexible and ready to change fishing plans to have a productive day, and before you knew it they were catching stripers over 32 feet of water in water columns from 5 to 30 feet.

Striped bass were caught on the following flies:
Floating Crease Fly, Gold Sides
Sinking Clouser, 1 1/2" Long, White/Gray Body w/Silver Flex
Sinking Clouser, 1 1/2" Long, White/Yellow Body w/Gold Flex
Sinking Clouser, 1 1/2" Long, White/Chart Body w/Gold Flex

This is one for the books since this was the first time Jim, Bob, and Jim landed a striped bass on a fly.

Thanks fellows for sharing your fly fishing trip with me.
