I just wanted to let folks know they should use extreme caution when passing the mouth of False River, at the San Joaquin.
They are doing dredging operations close by, and the discharge line passes through the rivers mouth, and it is marked with 5 MPH signs.
But today when passing there for the second time, a tender raced out to intercept me, and warned us to pass ONLY near the white buoy or the North end of the string, which is an anchor to hold the line down.
They were doing some type of operation that cleared the line, and it was floated to just below the waters surface (as opposed to being sunken when filled with dredge material.
So keep an eye out. I assume they are trying to intercept boats approaching when the conditions are such that the line is not sunken.
