Just to let everyone know Rommer on the Regal site locked a thread because I mentioned I was looking for a Carver.
When I tried to start a new one about censorship it was blocked.
I am very disapointed that boaters are so short sighted that we cannot talk about Carvers or other boat brands without being cut off.

MODERATOR'S NOTE - SEE MY POST AT BOTTOM OF THREAD...............

PETE...

Why would you post about Carvers on the Regal site?????

Because he has a Regal and may have wanted to get other Regal owners opinions of Carver

Hum.Does Rommer have a financial interest in Regal beyond owning one?

So why limit himself to opinions from Regal owners???

How do you know that there aren't other boat owners who know as much, or more about Carver's than Regal owners?

If I want to know about a particular brand of boat, I would ask in ATC, where you will get a much broader response.

Yes, rommer owns Regal.

apparently rommer wouldn't even let him try to ask

Apparently he is not as benevolent a moderator as I am over at HRCC.

As is always the case there is much more to this issue than meets the eye.

Sorry some feel I've overstepped my bounds but the thread was not locked for the reasons stated above.

I read the locked thread, it started out about the lack of postings by Regal owners, then got off track about what other boats people have bought - I would have locked it, too.

If that's what Cliff call's censorship, he's been living in a dream world...

LOL! Yeah, you're a real sweetie, Mike!!!

Walter, thanks for your concern. I think I'm going to leave it up for awhile, though, because I really am not one to stifle free speech, even on this lowly forum (just remember that, Cliff, the next time somebody tells you that Conservatives in America want to stifle discussion and run a Theocracy [:-mischievous])...

As for John (Rommer) - I might see him this weekend at a boat show I administer, so I'll just kick him in the balls for you ;)

Oh what the Hell, lets all lighten up. All this discussion proves is that Carver owners are nicer than Regal owners, but we knew that already. Lets talk about our BOATS instead :)!!!

This forum here is about Carver Boats

I prefer Carver Yachts as opposed to Carver Boats [:-captain]

I am locking this thread because of discussions I had with some of my moderator colleagues...

Apparently there is more than meets the eye in this case, so despite my "valiant" attempts to laugh this one away it appears the better decision is to shut down this thread. I didn't want to just delete the whole thing because then some of you who've read it before will wonder what all the secrecy is about. So instead I am making this last post...

Without going into all the gory details, let me just say that there are rules that govern BoaterEd, and a few "gentleman's rules" as well, and they are pretty obvious to most. On this forum we really haven't had much of an issue and have been talking about the intricacies of Carver Boats (Yachts, sorry Ken!) and that's what it should be all about. Once in awhile we may get into a more contentious topic, and as long as it pertains to Carvers I'm willing to engage, but anything more than that belongs in a different forum...

For $20, anyone here can purchase that little anchor that goes next to my name, and then can go into the "Not Boating Related" section and air pretty much any grief they have, from Hillary Clinton's dress size to the pros/cons of Canadian Health Care. They can even complain about those 2 boobs who run the Carver and Regal boats forums. But we're not going to get into that on this forum as it is outside our charter...

Thanks, everybody, for your understanding!!!
