I have a 1989 48 foot Californian. IDoes anyone have any information on the central vacuum system. I cannot even find the canister unit. I have the hose but it doesn't work, no suction from the wall mount. Any help with brand or any copies of the manual would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

We have a 48' Californian ACMY, but ours is not equipped with a vacuum system, so I can't be of any help, sorry.

Don't have a Calif. either,,but ours is located under a salon sofa. It is a Beam,,and about 1/4 the height of a 5gal. bucket. Ours has an on/off switch on the side, but comes on with the ext. hose being plugged in.

There aren't that many companies that make central vac systems. Sea Ray used Wal Vac. Beam is the other I am aware of. Are you sure it has a vac system and not just the connection? Sometimes it's cheaper to put things in during production than to leave them out.

It wouldn't have the van connection without the actual unit. Have you made sure that all your breakers are on in the Main Panel? Sometimes it may be on an ACC switch.

All breakers and switches are in proper position. I'm thinking the canister is in the third stateroom under the berth. I just have to spend some time looking for it. I do know it's not in the engine room.

On my built in vac unit, the switch to turn it on is in the wall socket, the hose end that you insert into the wall socket is metal
I not sure if it pushes on a switch or completes the circuit to turn the unit on. It will not run unless the hose is inserted.

Yea that's how mine is set up also, but does nothing when hose is plugged in. Just one of those things I will figure out sooner or later. Thanks.
