The new boat i am getting has a two burner "princess" series glass cooktop (electric) by Ceran in the galley. While we went to see it this weekend to spend some "quality time" with the new boat, my wife made a couple of glasses of hot tea. We discovered that the electric heating elements would heat up quickly and turned red beneath the glass, just like you would expect. However, just about the time we would have had it on long enough to get 1 cup of water just getting ready to steam towards a boil, the elements would suddenly go dark, then turn read again in about 20-30 seconds (maybe a little faster??). It would then turn "on and off" like that until the water boiled. We tried both burners to see if it was just something wrong with the one burner or something but they both consistently did it.
Does anyone else have this stove? Is this normal? If it were a house stove i would know it is not normal but this boat is a different animal than the deck boats we have previously had!
Any idea why the stove is doing this?
