chanel markers

Until I headed out with the boat Leigh how would I know they f'd up YET AGAIN!

Besides, isn't your boat still on land anyway?

Seriously, I've dealt with Manuel before and he is the type that says, "I've been doing this for 15 years, I know what I'm doing" And yes, he has said that to me when I wouldn't allow him to pull my boat one year when Eddie was suppose to pull it. Some people just don't want help.

So let me get this straight, they are yelling and screaming at each other and you think I should go out there and tell them they are doing it wrong? Sorry, no. Ken's advise is probably the best way to go. Put the GPS coordinates in your plotter and screw the buoys. Just be careful when you are bisecting the last 2 red buoys, it's very tight.

What does my boat being on land have to do with you once again bitching and mouning about SPBM... you left the marina, you are now happy at your new home, now get over it!!!

FYI: my boat is in and I have to say SPBM did a great job. They detailed my boat at a great price, lauched my boat with no issues and when I showed up on friday my boat was in my slip with the cover on.

Excellent Leigh. Glad to hear your boat is in. Time to go boating.

As for SBPM, I simple responded to a question. It was you that felt I should go tell them how to do their job. It's not my fault they don't know which side the red and green buoys go.

Pedro, Manual... Are those really there names?

If you're going to attempt to accuse me of being a bigot you should get your facts straight. At least when I was at the marina I took the time to learn the staff's names and even buy the marina workers coffee and dough nuts.

Oh, and I probably won't ever get over the money that was extorted from me by them nor the damage to my boats that was never repaired. I am always open to someone righting a wrong however. Getting ripped off is something that one rarely forgets but I am happy to be at a place where the staff actually cares and tries to do the right thing.

Looking at them as I type this. Only 3 markers left as "someone" decided to take one for a tour of the river. (Sorry Jim but I had to say it!)

The marker issue is another example of how the management at SPBM doesn't give a flying hoot about THEIR customers. The markers are the property of SBPM, have always been placed by SPBM, and wintered by SPBM. When the current owner bought SPBM he tried to harm other marinas in the area and wanted to eliminate the channel and use the north channel for the marina. Customers complained and that idea went away but now he wants the other marina to place the markers since they benefit from the channel as well. He refuses to place the markers properly choosing to simply put them all in a straight line, red, green, green, red. I suppose the other marina could place them properly but then they could be charged with tempering with SPBM property. Real petty BS.

I'm sure many people remember last years placing of the markers. Way off channel and a good number of people grounded or hit things increasing the service business at the marina.

Simply answering the question would have been to say no... This my friend looks like the rants of a bitter man...

So it's not that fact that I answered the question that bothers you but the way I did? I didn't know you were in charge of telling people how they should answer questions. Please don't bother reading my posts if you find them a rant, I won't mind.

Lets get this back on topic.

No the buoys weren't in the right place at the time of first question but then they were moved but they are STILL in the wrong place and now they even have the colors reversed which isn't much better than red green green all in a row. Ken is taking wagers on when they will be placed in the right place.

Is that to your liking now?

Its been a week, I have not been there, are the markers corrected, in the right place now ?

No way could Wayne be stirring the pot Leigh. He had hand surgery this past week!

Wayne, NO! ;)

I think Wayne was making a joke!!

BTW, when Pedro & Manuel are shouting at each other, are they both facing each other, or are they both facing east? If they are both facing each other, Pedro's 'right' will be Manuel's 'left' - that might explain the FUBAR buoys!

I understand your concern Wayne, You need the buoy lights to be correct for when you heading back in from another last minute decission not to stay out on the hook...

Leigh doesn't have to worry about any of that, his boat is only in the water for 2 weeks each season...

Come on now Mike... I went in a little late last seaosn but came out first week of Dec.

This year I had an excuse.. We had a Baby!!! and now that the boat it is, it will stay in until late Nov, Dec...

And for the record.. I have never headed back to the dock in the middle of the night because I was scared to sleep out on the hook (50% chance of thunderstorms or not)...

I think I am going to upgrade my stereo and blast "Should I stay or Should I go" everytime a certain few G-Dockers join a raft-up... LOL
