I have always changed the oil in our boats. Never a problem, so I volunteered to help a buddy change the oil in his 94 Regal 32 footer, twin 7.4 with outdrives. Our boat has the same engines with V-Drives. I have yet to change the oil in our boast yet.
He has a water hose running under the oil pan so we could not get a pan under the engines. He does not have the oil hose going into the pan that you can hook a pump to so we had to go through the dipstick. Neighbor boat had an oil pumped attached to the top of a 2.5 gallon can they we hooked into the battery. It took over 30 minutes to drain each engine. There has got to be a better way to do this.
I went back to our boat to see if it would be any easier, nope, same set up. I will have to go through the dipstick too.
This seems like a poor desison to me. Are there otherbetter ways to do this?
