Anybody from Coeymans Landing Marina, I went down there to look at afew boats. It seem to be a nice marina. ..Thanks Wayne

It is a nice little marina...but there is a seawall just past the docks, parallel to the shore, that is just a few inches under water at high tide. You must approach the docks very close to and parallel to the shoreline as I recall. The seawall is marked, but I know it catches a few boaters every year. Also, ducks are liable to lay eggs just about anywhere on your boat :)

The people who I know who use them speak very highly of em. I've heard of some low water issues going in and out when the tide's down tho. Last year one of their customers broke down up by Albany, and they ran up in a run about to get him going.

Very good marina. Owners Hedy and Carl are good people and they have a good reputation in boat sales. Carl and Cos who handle service are terrific. There's a very good restaurant as well.

As far as the sea wall, use your chart, observe the markers and you'll be fine. It is submerged at high tide and does catch boaters if they are not practicing good seamanship. It is tempting to cross from the main channel to their gas dock but if you look at the chart it is clear that this is a bad move. There are no low-water issues going in and out as long as you follow the well-marked approach. As with many yards on the Hudson, accessibility to the pit is subject to the tides.

Thats good to know i might drive back down there to take another peek :). Thanks

We've been in for an overnite there. Their fuel was reasonably priced and the restaurant was good. The only thing one has to remember is not to approach the marina from the North. There is a creek between the marina and yacht club and it silts up the area between the two. So you have to come in the south end of the sea wall and head north to the marina. I believe you can pass the silted area at high tide but check into that or observe others before trying it.

Hi Wayne,

Sorry I'm slow to respond. We're heading into our 11th year at Coeymans Landing. That should tell you a lot right there. It's a really nice place, well protected and great people.

Feel free to give me a shout if there are any other questions I can help you with.

You can come in from the north depending on your draft and the tide. Low tide forget it, high tide no problem for all but really BIG boats. And yes, there is a silt control dyke that runs the entire length of the waterfront. Call on the radio if your coming in at high tide and need instructions.

Ken
