Columbus Day Regatta....Coming Soon

Randy, you should have stopped by during the week end, where did you end up ?

i had 125' of chain plus another 25 i dropped to give you clearance to put her in gear so i wasn't too worried, the drag from the chain alone may not have held the boat in 20kts but it would have slowed down the drag... Chain is key to holding, if you can manage the weight, get more than 20'. I think the minimum amount of chain one shoudl carry is the scope the routinely use... in south florida where we usually anchor in 8 to 10', 50 to 60' of chain is good start, again, weight permitting.

Pascal. Very nice pix. Lot's of class. I googled Columbus Day Regatta and ended up on a site that had....well let's say more R rated than PG pix on it.

That said, I have some questions for you south Florida folks. Is their only one plastic surgeon south of Daytona, did he use to be a Marine Max Salesman, and did he get his silicone in bulk at Sam's Club? I have never seen so many botched boob jobs in my life. No I am not a plastic surgeon, and no I did not sleep in a Holiday Inn Express last night, however, to the best of my knowledge, nature has never made a square tit, and an out of work Dennis Rodman was seen in a few photos wandering the anchorage trying to autograph some. Yuck. Very, Very Scary.

just for the record, David's excellent question is not prompted by the pictures taken on my boat...

:-)

Pascal we were about 100 yards or so off your bow. I went back to where we were at before maybe a little closer toward shore. I was planing on comming over but the dink engine kept stalling on me so I just got tired of fighting the wind with it and just tided it off. My niece and her husband came in Saturday morning so we just used his 22 footer center console to run around.
I should get around to replacing the nonworking winch soon so I should have new rode next time. It's on my birthday and Christmas list.
