Hi All: This Saturday, my company is having their annual picnic at the Tiana Shores Club which is in East Quogue on the westside of Tiana Bay. I was thinking of going there with my boat. I looked at all the tide tables but not sure which one I should us. You have Moriches Inlet, Potunk Point(Moriches Bay) and Mastic Beach (Moriches By. Can someone tell me which is the right tide table to use. The picnic starts around 1PM and I am leaving out of SS3, Lindenhurst. I figure it should take me about 1.5 hours to get to Moriches Bay but I could be wrong since I have never done this before. Also, does anyone know if there is a marina that takes transients near the west side of Tiana Bay. I know WHB is there but I won't have a car to get to East Quogue so I was hoping there was something very close to the picnic sight.
Never made this type of trip before so am a little apprehensive but want to try it.
Thanks for your help,
OJ

OJ......... There is a rental car agent in WHB.....we used them on year to rent a car to get to Montauk for the day.

Maybe.... get to WHB Friday night and rent a car for the picnic. Just a thought.

Have a good time !!!!

Thanks Big 'D'. Not sure I would have enough time to make it out there with daylight on Friday. Really would prefer not to rent a car, that's why I was hoping for a small transient marina closer to Tiana Bay. I could always take a taxi I guess. What about tide charts? Which location tide table should I be using to figure out when high tide is around Moriches Bay?
Thanks, OJ

OJ, ince it takes time for the tide to fill in the bay, its safe to say that 1-2 hours past the inlet high tide is ok for passage. But since you work in WHB, just stop by and get the chart from Frank the dock master. I use saltwater.com but it does differ from the Moriches Flotilla charts by about 45 minutes.
