Bryan that's a great story and you made great time. Too bad about the few minutes in cuffs is GA on the road trip part.
Sounds like a very nice vessel best of luck with her. The fuel bill sounds about right but you probably would have spent more trying to ship the vessel over land if it even could be done (doubtful).

Bill, it is possible to ship this boat, but....the bridge has to come off and all electric and plumbing cut loose for shipping and then reterminated and the bridge put back on upon arrival. The on/off for the bridge was estimated at $20k (and you know what happens with marine estimates), not sure what trucking would be from the west coast of FLA but I'd guess another $25-35k. So, all in all, bringing her home by water was the most economical and likely least complicated way of doing it. And though it was a long 9 days I can now say I did it.
