Considering boat trip to Cavallo Point

Hello there,

My wife wants a cooking class as one of her Christmas gifts. I found one right near Cavallo Point. Given the location I figured this is a great opportunity to include a little boating in this gift. My plan is to boat from Oakland to Cavallo Point, walk to the cooking class, spend the night on the boat and boat back.

Has anyone made this trip? I know there is no shore power for guest docks but beyond that is there any advice you can give me?

We anchored out for a weekend with our Club.
It was fine except that we had an unusual substantial surge. It is also shallow at the small guest dock but the view is great.
