During our Cummins orientation held last April, the Captain mentioned to have the transmission fluid and filter replaced on both engines once we have reached 50 hours. MarineMax quoted us $400 total cost on parts and labor. Is this a reasonable estimate?

By the way, our boat runs on diesel.

Seems a little high, but with the COB (cost of boating) it is par. Especially at the SS3/MM dealership.

By the way do you know if there is a Meridian rendezvous at Watch Hill, I heard there may be?

No idea because we weren't able to join the Watch Hill Getaway. We will definitely be joining the Aquapalooza on Zach's Bay in July. By the way, where do you dock your boat and do you also own a Meridian yacht?

I am at the Long Island Yacht Club, just a little east of you. I have a 320 Sea Ray. I was asking because someone at my club mentioned it, but was not sure. We have a couple of members with large Meridians. When is the Watch Hill Getaway ? Or was that the Sea Ray one this past weekend ?

DIY it is easy, assuming you can get to them. Cost of filters and oil, less than $50. Get flters from NAPA and look in the book for correct oil type. If you have ZF they probably use 30W non synthetic. Any vacuum oil change pump will suck it out the fill tubes. Easier if warm but not necessary. Some trans also have a filter screen at the drain so look in the book. The handbook should have all the info. I added another valve and hose to my installed pump for engine lube oil change. Now I use the same pump to such out the trans too.

If you think that is pricy wait until you get their quote for engine oil change.
